2009 Summer Programs

New Programs for 2009

Unique Overnight Campsites:

A Yurt Campsite has been added featuring a 20-foot diameter round tent on a platform extending out on a ridge overlooking Lake Wapogasset with a spectacular view of the sunsets.  The Yurt has a plastic dome bubble in the tall ceiling for looking at the stars.

A Tree House Campsite was built in a cluster of sturdy oaks on the eastern shore of the Icaghowan Island.  Campers on an overnight will cook supper and breakfast as well as sleep in the trees.  Easy access to the ground  also makes this ideal for hanging out during cabin activity time.

The Technical Climbing Tree House, used for the tree climbing program, will now be available for overnights with older camper cabins.  This tree house adds the excitement of using climbing equipment and belaying for access to make for a very private overnight.

Two-Week Session:

Back by popular demand, Icaghowan will be offering one 2-week session this year during sessions 4 & 5 with special middle-weekend programs.  Limited this year to ages 10-12

Popular Programs now for ALL CAMPERS:

Some of the activities that had been previously reserved for specialty camps will now be open to all campers!

The Climbing Tower will get the addition of a ceiling route, over-verticle route and a lead climbing route.  Campers can try climbing for just an hour, everyday, or with their cabin group.
